While you're here, how about checking out the Astronomy Book List ?

Is there any real benefit to a focal reducer if you are only into visual
astronomy? I have been told both yes and no and would like some more input
before actually buying one. I have been told that the f/6.3 reducer yields
an image 2.5 times brighter and that the f/5 reducer by Meade yields an
image 4 times brighter than without. I would be using the reducer to
increase both the quality and quantity of my deep space viewing ( I have a
2120 10" SCT) and would like to know if it will really help or not.

thanks in advance -

Patrick
