While you're here, how about checking out the Astronomy Book List ?

I have worked on links from computers to the LX200 for two years now.
For links of 100 feet or so standard 232 links work well. If you need
to go further, standard LAN links work well. (up to several thousand
feet) The use of modems is not indicated unless you need to go to
telephone lines. (many thousands of feet or many miles)
