While you're here, how about checking out the Astronomy Book List ?

This is a timely topic, as I was just about to order a Meade focal
reducer for my LX200/10"/f10.

What brand/model number focal reducer is recommended? Why not the
Meade? Right now my interest is visual, but I plan to do CCD imagining
in the future.

OT: Having sold my Magellan I, I have three spare optical encoders that
I had as spares and would like to trade (not sell). Their cases have
never been opened.
