Harold, an I correct in assuming, that when you make an exposure, you have
eliminated vibration problems caused by the shutter and the mirror etc. and
that your problem is strictly focussing caused by the faintness of the
image you are attempting to capture on film.? If such is indeed your
problem the only suggestions that I can make (over and above the sound
advice already offered by individuals on this group) is, have you tried an
electric focuser ? it certainly can IMO make focussing much easier, I
certainly have found it so, also have you tried the Interscreen by Beattie
(advertised in Astronomy magazine), this improves the brightness of the
image making it somewhat easier to focus.
