While you're here, how about checking out the

I see what you are saying, this sounds exciting to say the least. I
missed the enhancment part you are talking about and would like to see
it, I love to tinker and make it better, hopefully (Home Improvement?).
A few weeks ago I got a previously own LX-200 that had never been
properly setup, PEC, collimation, etc. I adjusted my backlash to less
than 1 second on reversal of travel. At the star party we had several
folks check out how quickly it reversed without any jerks, very smooth.
The backlash was set at 45 and I used the instructions in the LX-200
manual. My other scope at best was 5 seconds and using a backlash
setting of 45 would cause it to jerk, when reversed. I always depended
on dec. drift alignment to help with this problem, which I would set
slightly in one direction so the dec. didn't need to reverse, now, I can
set the alignment for zero dec. drift.....nice for CCD...
