While you're here, how about checking out the Astronomy Book List ?

Just received a new 10" LX200 and I noticed a very small shiny spot on the corrector plate
halfway between the secondary mirror housing and the edge of the corrector plate. On closer
inspection I noticed that it is a crescent moon shaped crack about 1 mm in diameter and
appears to be under the surface of the corrector plate. My question is will this tiny crack
effect the quality of my viewing in any noticable way. I sincerly hope not because I would
hate to have to send it back to Meade, what a pain.

Has anyone had a similar "blemish" on their scopes, did it effect your viewing, should I send
it back?

Thank you in advance

Chris Frye
