While you're here, how about checking out the Astronomy Book List ?

I routinely control my LX-200, using ECU running on an IBM Thinkpad. A
friend of mine and I wanted to compare the pointing accuracy of our
scopes (he has an 8 inch LX and mine is a 10 inch). Is it possible to
contrtol both scopes simultaneously from my laptop, using some sort of
"Y" connector for the serial cable, etc.?

It won't work. You'll have two RS-232 transmitters on the same wire and they
will jam each other. The computer will not be able to receive anything from
either scope. This is basic to the RS-232 scheme and is not unique to the way
the LX works.
