An interesting idea. If I were to design such a product, I would replace
the motors and make the motherboard into something very trivial that
handled only the motor controls and left all the hard stuff to an external
laptop. With improved motors and gears and software one would have a much
better scope.

OTOH, such a thing would not be cheap. If it could sell for $500, I would
be surprised. I think I would pay that much, but I would have to think
about it. I'm not sure one could make a profit.

OTTH ("on the third hand" :-) JMI already has a computerized scope
(NGT-18). Maybe enough of its technology could be used that the
development costs would be low. Interesting thoughts.....
