Let me express on this first of the new year a very, very big thank
you for maintaining this list. As I froze my arse off last night with
seemingly decent skies to the naked eyes, but with one of those
less-than-smoothviewing sessions, I did not get frustrated as I would
have without this list. The keypad slowed and dimmed--no problem, our
Canadian friend tells me just warm it up and it works fine (hes
right); astigmatism (new)--I move my head, oops its me, my eyes are
tearing from the cold, not my scope, thanks to several members; cant
split Sirius--hey, the heat from the house 10 yards away is distorting
everything above it tonight; the enter key did that funny thing some
members have played with before (when your hands are cold, pushing the
keys gets clumsy, and other folks were absolutely right about the enter
key needing a certain touch at times)--hey, I would have freaked if I
had not known that this was part of the LX200 personality.
So I had a mellow viewing night, despite the cold, despite the
glitches. I did not curse my spending the money, sure that my keypad
had self-destructed in the cold--I may well have if I had not been a
member of this group.
My scope is cheaper than a psychiatrists couch, and using this
group is cheaper than anxiolytic drugs.
So again, thank you John Hopper and fellow MAPUGers! And Happy New
Year!
