While you're here, how about checking out the Astronomy Book List ?

Having just started on ccd imaging, I have noticed that my
early images show stars in Orion as V-shaped objects when the exposure
time is 20 sec. (or more?). All the "V's" in the frame are
oriented in the same way. I am running an 8" LX200 at f10 in alt/az
mode, out of the box. Shorter exposures show stars more or less
as points. I have been told that for such short exposures image
rotation should not be a problem, and I have read that the period
of the RA gear is 8 min., so I did not expect drive error to be
a problem. Any suggestions or advice would be welcome.

Bob
