I have the Magellan II and an LX-50 and connect my laptop to the Magellans
RS-232 port just fine. Youll find Earth Centered Universe and Meades
Epoch programs will work with the Magellan II. Dont know for sure what
other ones will. With ECU, as you slew the screen image on the laptop will
move with you showing where you are pointed and whats nearby. Works quite
well for finding objects.
