While you're here, how about checking out the Astronomy Book List ?

Not much mail on the list lately, so I though I'd venture in with a
beginners question.

I collimated my LX200 for the first time recently. As this is my first
telescope I'm unsure about what I should see with out of focus star
images.

On one side of the focus I see a doughnut, while on the other side of
focus I see several rings of light with a pinpoint of light in the
centre. Is this normal?

Thanks - Tony L'Hotellier
