While you're here, how about checking out the Astronomy Book List ?

Dirk, I am anxious to see these plans. I was thinking about this when I
saw
your earlier post and thought there could be tremendous benefits if we
could
also get someone to remove the 2 degrees slew limit on Mag II's "FIND"
function to allow LX-200 type slews. But still I think slewing in RA
would
be painfully slow. In my case I wanted try to come up with a quick and
easy
fix that would work for the non-mechanically inclined masses. One that
would
not require any permanent modifications to the scope itself (most of us
have
resale in mind someday!), and is easy enough to install that if you
manage to
setup your LX-50 yourself you can handle this task. While I have huge
junk
boxes of gears and parts and had my setup modified for some time I had
to
place orders for the proper new parts to help others. Minimum orders
from
these companies are $100 and are priced at many times the large qty
prices.
So needless to say I can't buy things and give them away. I also have
about
an hour in modifying and assembling each kit, not to mention R&D time.
Believe
me any profit I make on these is at a rate far, far lower than my normal
wages.
When all is said and done I would be lucky to be able to buy an eyepiece
with any profits. By the way I will be happy to give anyone who wants
one a
copy of the instructions. I don't have a website to post them on, so if
you also
want the pictures better send me a SASE, they take forever to send and
IBM is
now limiting time online. OT:Which reminds me who has great unlimited
internet
access with free homepages???
