Radio Shack now sells standard T1-3/4 cased LED's with the appropriate
resistor for 12 V operation already in the package. Should be trivial to
replace. Clearly, if this rig is smoking LED's, the supply voltage is too
high (fits with the comments in this thrd about reticle being visually too
bright). Typical life for LED's within current spec is 10's of years!!!
Where are the alternative comments, listing better illuminated reticle EP's?
I'm quite interested in getting one (for my LX50 - therefore prefer pulser
being part of the EP, but can provide the power externally (infinite source
of 12 V from 850 A-Hr marine battery I paid $30 for!). I have not been too
impressed with any of the commercial offerings from Meade or Orion. Any
good advice out there? David
