While you're here, how about checking out the Astronomy Book List ?

I'm considering replacing the old, tried and true 8" SCT (Meade 2080) with an LX200 model. Does anyone have any data comparing the 10" and 12" models? I know that the 12" corrector is made of BAK-7 glass and that more aperture always makes a difference, but is the difference that great? Is the difference in cost (and weight) worth it?

The other route is to buy an 8" LX200, then I can keep my solar filter and other goodies. Let me know if you would like to sell yours.

Thanks,

Mark
