While you're here, how about checking out the Astronomy Book List ?

I am looking for feedback on the LX200 8" scope. I am considering buying one in the near future but have heard about some problems.

I have heard some people say that the optics are not as good as the Celestron SCTs. Also, that the motors burn out easily on the Meade's and that they are very noisey.

Can anyone confirm or deny the above based on experience?
