While you're here, how about checking out the

Roy,
I believe that Epoch 2000 should work successfully with a Magellan II. =
The Magellan II will regularly send the RA and DEC coordinates of the =
scope to the Epoch software which lets it show where your scope is =
pointed in the sky via cross-hairs on the sky map. What cable are you =
using to connect the Magellan to the PC? The wiring diagram in the =
Magellan manual is confusing and it is easy to wire it up the wrong way. =
This could be the source of your problems. I have a correct wiring =
diagram for the Magellan I and II RS232 cable on my website. See

Subject: [M]: magellan ll / epoch 2000

=20
I have a 10" Starfinder with a Magellan ll hooked up to it.
it is connected to my computer with a LX200 interface cable from =
meade. The computer has Meade"s Epoch 2000.=20
Problem =3D I do not know if it is possible to connect the Magellan =
ll to Epoch 2000, but both the starfinder manual and the magellan =
manual's say you can. The connection is supposed to put cross hairs on =
the star charts and change field of views. there are not supposed to be =
any goto functions.
I am connected to a 9 pin serial port ( comm port two ) and epoch =
2000 sort of recognise's that there is something there, but the lx200 =
protocol locks up on me and I get no response.
Any help would be appreciated , Roy
