While you're here, how about checking out the Astronomy Book List ?

Here's something I have been thinking about while reading the required
astronomy magazines in the desginated astronomy reading room
:).........

I am beginning to strain at the bit with, of course, aperture fever,
and for something to do while I sit through those 1 hour exposures with
my 5" APO refractor setup while my autoguider merrily whirrs away.

I have been thinking about maybe getting a Meade 10" Dob as a second
(somewhat portable) visual scope to compliment my refractor setup (or
vice versa). The Meade 10" Dob. seems inexpensive, fairly portable, and
pretty simple in design. I can set up the Dob. for visual use alone, or,
for something to do while shooting photos through the refractor, or,
.....and here is the brainstorm....
I am wondering if it would be possible, and make sense, to also upgrade
my LXD650 mount to a LXD 750 mount, I would still keep the 5" refractor,
but now the mount would be able to handle the weight of 10" Meade
reflector if I could make a mounting system to mount it. If I wanted to
shoot some photos of some real deep stuff, I could just mount the 10",
my 90mm guidescope and away we go.....

What do you all think???
Or have I been sitting in the reading room too long....

Xmas is coming!
