A further note on city sky glow and pollution--. For all practical purposes
observing at angles lower than 20 to 30 degrees above the horizon is a waste
of time due to atmospheric instabilities and air density in the line of sight.
In my case, maybe exceptional, my city sky glow seems to be confined to an
angle below 30 degrees which leaves me a lot of prime sky to observe. I am
located 2 miles from a well lit downtown so I am in an urban situation
regarding a city of almost 200,000.
