I agree wholeheartedly. The following is an UNGUIDED 10 minute
exposure of M-51 taken with my 100% stock LX-200 8" f/10 reduced
to f/6.3, on a STANDARD Meade wedge (not super-wedge):

At 10 minutes, it is 20% beyond the PEC cycle time. I trained my
PEC carefully ONCE after a reset, and did a careful polar
alignment using the ACP wizard, followed by a dec drift tweak.
