I like the concrete pier idea. I have an exposed observation site in my side yard
about 50 feet from the house and about 20 feet from the road. It makes sense, for
security reasons, to remove the scope leaving only the wedge attached to the pier
when in use. Do you know if this will mess up the polar alignment. Of course, I
will still have to bring out the scope earlier and allow the temperature to
stabilize.
