I'm afraid I must apologize. I have been living on top of this hill so long
I take it for granted. I have a corner lot with three street lights close
by. My driveway, which is where I used to observe from sits about 20 feet
above the lights and 2 of the 3 sensors were aimed my direction. The style
of sensor on my street lights has them aimed horizontally. They are in a
small dome about 2.5" diameter with the actually sensor recessed about .75".
The use of a 12v spotlight did not seem to harm the sensors, the lights
would come back on shortly after turning the spotlights off. I have been
told that a laser pointer will also work but I don't know if there is a
potential for damage due to the intensity of the laser.
