The first answer is no, there is no lockup in the K1000. But don't despair
there is a way to achieve the mirror lock up that works quite well.
Relax your index finger by shaking it a few times and then tap the shutter
button lightly and you will get the mirror to lock up until you press the
shutter button all the way down with a cable release. Set the camera on
bulb and then open the shutter. When you close the shutter the mirror will
return to the down position. Practice a few times without film in the
camera until you get good at locking up the mirror.
