While you're here, how about checking out the Astronomy Book List ?

Nope. If all is working as intended, the current is flowing 100% in the
hot and neutral lines. The third conductor (ground) is there as a safety,
to carry any fault currents to ground. Normally, it carries no current.
Matter of fact, if it were to conduct more than the threshold current for
the GFI, the GFI would trip.

You two wire cord will not trip the GFI unless current flows outside those
two wires..... like through you to earth ground.
