While you're here, how about checking out the Astronomy Book List ?

G'day all. When I recieved my Magellan II ( about 18months ago ) I was told
to replace the PAL IC on the main board of the LX50 ( bought at the same
time )
with the new one supplied in a static proof bag. I installed everything and
did as I
was told but experienced the problem as described below, I reinstalled the
chip
that was installed originally and bingo the LX50 worked like it was supposed
to.
( That is after some other repairs to a NEW Magellan II unit to get it
working )
Your problem may be different but at least this another experience. I dont
know
what version of the motors and PROM I have as I havent pulled the scope
apart
to check but the PROM has no label so who knows???
