Steve,
It's pretty simple to check the RA worm assemble by removing the
bottom plate. Be careful around the circuit board or remove it to get
more clearance. Don't touch the components on the board or ground
yourself to prevent static. You will find (I think from what you said)
that the RA assemble is loose, there is a lip on the housing (back of RA
assemble) that butts up against another lip on the housing, make sure
they touch,, this will register the assemble to the housing. Look to
find the marks that the hold down allen screws made and tighten down on
these marks (this will get it close to factory settings). Tighten the
allen screws by hand tightly using the small end of the allen wrench as
the handle, continue with a crescent wrench another quarter turn. This
will get them tight without stripping the threads. Re-distribute the
grease with a popsicle stick, you don't need to add any additiional
grease. Retrain your PEC on a clear, still night by hand
guiding................hope this helps.
