Hi Bob
Last night was our first chance to install ACP 1.1.
The result was stunningly successful ! The addition of the module for
those of us in the Southern Hemisphere allowed us to go from "Scope is
connected" at the home position, to click on the Alignment Wizard. The
computer had noted our geographical position (previously entered) and
the scope slewed smoothly round to Sigma Octans. With a couple of
iterations of the Alt/Az adjustments and the Alignmnt Star (NSEW on the
keypad) routine we were fairly accurately polar aligned. No doubt we
will need to spend more time to get more precise alignment for
astro-photography but we we elated by the simplicity of the whole thing.
As we have previously advised, our scope is a Meade ED152 Refractor on
an LXD750 mount, with a #1697 computerised drive, which you have now
recognised, as I read the MAPUG postings, is equivalent to an LX-200
drive. We have not had any crashes so far with the BT problem, but will
check it out.
We want to congratulate you again on your efforts and prompt willingness
to listen to any questions that your users raise.
It really is such fun to use your marvellous computer program !
With kindest regards
