ACP 1.1 Service Pack 1
======================
DC-3 Dreams has released ACP 1.1 Service Pack 1. This small
(430K) self-installing update has been released primarily to
address the "Bermuda Triangle" problem experienced by some
versions of the the LX-200 telescope. This problem manifests
itself as the LX-200 freezing up, locking out the keypad, after
using ACP to move the scope.
The problem was resolved as a quirk of some LX-200 models where
a FIELD operation with the scope pointing between 23:30 and
00:00 hours RA causes the scope itself to lock up. ACP uses
FIELD to make it's automatic "Scope is now pointed at ____"
announcements, and for its "What's Visible?" button.
Service pack 1 contains an update to ACP which has a checkbox in
the Preferences dialog with which you can disable FIELD
oerations if you run into this problem. It also has several
other changes and additions, mostly in the area of the COM
objects is exposes to scripts and automation controllers. To
find out more about the things that have been changed and fixed,
go to the DC=3 Tech Support site at support.dc3.com and enter
the WebStar support system. Check out the list of Engineering
Requests.
YOU MUST HAVE ACP 1.1 INSTALLED BEFORE INSTALLING SP1.
To download ACP 1.1 Service Pack 1, use the link below or just
go to the DC-3 Tech Support Site at support.dc3.com
ftp://ftp.netcom.com/pub/rd/rdenny/lx200_11SP1.exe
This is a self installing update, and is about 400K in size. It
should take less than 3 minutes to download at 28.8.
