While you're here, how about checking out the Astronomy Book List ?

In a message dated 12/3/98 5:42:47 PM Eastern Standard Time,

<< I would be extremely interested in one of these for my
recently-acquired (secondhand) 127mm ed. That price is a bit steep but
maybe he'd be willing to provide a satisfaction money-back guarantee?
I think I'll contact Markus and get further info. Thanks for the lead!

Paul & M.,

I've finally located the original post. My earlier searches failed because of
mis-spelling of "reduser", and searching on Valery's last name, which wasn't
in that post.

Also, this particular color corrector lens turns out to keep the scope at f/9
rather than being a reducer also. I'm sure they could design one that does
both, perhaps causing some other compromise in the design.

I'll paste the important parts of Valery's 1/1/98 post here between the dashed
lines, which will give you plenty to search on and find it yourself:

Now I can say that we have developed the color corrector for all Meade's
semi-APO refractors. Such corrector can be inserted into the objective end
of the star-diagonal and will correct the false colors to the level of
Astro-Physics
refractor. The corrector will not change the F/D and will correct small
field of 0.5 degree - enough for high-power visual and for CCD shooting.

If we will have enough inquires for such correctors, we will start
their serial manufacturing. Any comments, please. We also interested in
opinions of Meade's refractor owners. So, if anyone of you has friends with
Meade's refractors, ask them about theirs opinion. Such corrector can be
sell for around 800$ for the 6" and 7" , for 500$ for 5" and 430$ for the
4" scopes.

Best wishes in new 1998,

Valery Deryuzhin

Good luck with your 127mm scope!
