While you're here, how about checking out the Astronomy Book List ?

Hello......

I am new to the group and though I would say hello! I also have a few
questions about Meade's LDX500 8" SCT.

1) How good is the quality of this instrument? Would it be a good
instrument for a advance beginner?

2) Does the optional drive unit include a computer interface (for example
does it output position information)?

For the past couple of years I've been using a binoculars and a Meade 2045D.
