I believe someone on this list mounted a muffin type fan (common in PC
chassis) on a tripod to avoid vibration from mounting the fan on the
camera. My scope is mounted on a rather large pier to which afixed one
of those flexible desk lamp stands (w/o lamp) and the muffin fan mounted
on that. this arrangement saves me from tripping over the tripod. No
virbations are transmitted to the scope. I haven't tried this with the
Meade Giant field tripod.
