I have a little problem...
I've been running my 10" LX200 in the field with a "Car and Driver" 12V
battery pack designed for jump-starting a dead car battery. It is
connected to the scope by way of a 12V to 18V inverter. This
arrangement has been most satisfactory.
However, the wires connecting to the charging transformer have broken,
and I need help in making a substitution.
The charger that came with the gadget is a 15V 500 mA transformer.(Not a
typo -- it really is 15V.) I have one that looks identical (salvaged
from an old cell phone) that is 12V 700 mA. Polarity and connectors are
identical.
Is this a safe substitution? The battery is a sealed lead-acid unit.
Any help would be most appreciated. Thanks, MAPUGERS, Lou
