I would try to fix the transformer's wires if possible. The cell phone
transformer will not charge you battery because the voltage is too low.
On a 12 volt battery you usually charge at 14.4 to 15 volts and keep it
on a standby voltage of 13.5 to 13.8 volts so, the 15 volt transformer
is correct.
