I just got my LX200 back from Meade for pointing and periodic error =
problems. It was one of the original early models without PEC and HP =
pointing so I had them upgrade these features as well as the latest =
EPROM (4.34). I put it back on its permanent pier in the observatory =
(http://www.mv.com/ipusers/astron/observatory.htm this past weekend and =
wired it back up to the computer, initialized it, and synched it. So =
far, so good! It physically works. What I would like to know (seeing =
that it never had PEC or HP pointing capability before) does HP (high =
precision pointing) and PEC work in polar mode (mounted equatorially on =
a wedge) or only in Altaz mode? and if so, is it desirable to have both =
activated when using TheSky (by Software Bisque) and SBIG's ST-7 CCD =
camera when imaging and/or autoguiding?
