While you're here, how about checking out the Astronomy Book List ?

To: both Mikes, Dan, Chuck, Doc and ??? --

I know I might catch it for butting into this conversation, but I
want to ask a question. I don't mean to be rude either, I'm
asking this so I can learn how to better serve my customers and
potential customers. I am NOT(!!!) asking this to make anyone
look stupid or whatever (except maybe myself!).

Assumptions (collective "you"):
-----------

(1) You have a system capable of developing with VB6
(2) You know enough programming to write in VB(A)
(3) You know about ACP
(4) ACP is completely free
(5) You are not developing a commercial program to compete
with ACP

Question:
--------

Why would you spend time mucking with the LX-200 low level
control signals when you could either do what you want directly
with ACP, write a simple VBScript to do it, or write a VBA
program (in Access or Excel) to talk to ACP's object interface?

If your answer is "you can't do it with ACP, scripts, or VBA to
ACP" then I am intensely interested, and that's the reason for my
question. The result will be either "yes you can" and I'll leran
that I must better communicate the abilities of ACP, or
"sonofagun, you're right, you can't" in which case I'll have some
valuable input for future releases.

Thanks in advance.
