Chuck, Dan & Doc --
Thanks VERY much for your inputs. I truly hope I didn't offend
anyone by asking. And I completely understand your responses.
What I learned out of this is that I need to better
explain/document ACP's "hidden" mode where it just provides you
with a set of objects that are easier to program than the scope.
For example, to make the scope go to a specific place in VB or
VBA:
Dim s = new Scope ' or CreateObject("LX200.Scope")
s.SelectObject "NGC 3122"
s.SlewToCurrentObject
You do NOT have to start ACP before hand, and ACP will not jump
out into your face if you create it as an object as shown. It
remains on the task bar out of the way unless you open it
yourself. That 3 line program inside a Sub Main() will do it.
Anyway, I clearly need to make this more apparent in the docs and
future literature, so thatnks for pointing that out. Of course,
as you said, there are things that you "just want to do" and of
course ACP can't do everything. I completely understand.
Thanks again. I really appreciate it.
