While you're here, how about checking out the Astronomy Book List ?

Has anyone tried to remove the new ETX-90/EC OTA from the mount? Removing the
4 mounting screws is not enough. I am interested in doing some terrestrial
observing/photography and want to remove it from the base so that I can use
it with a normal tripod. There are still the 1/4-20 mounting holes on the OTA,
so it would seem that Meade still allows for this use. Also, I am thinking
about using it as a guidescope for my 10" LX200. Has anyone had any success
or even tried this?

Thanks,
Dan
