While you're here, how about checking out the
Astronomy Book
List ? |
This could be a alignement problem on the tangent arm, screw too tight or gear mesh binding . Or both.

When I purchased this new a few weeks ago it wouldn't work with
batteries. I then tried the cig
adapter which worked. Subsequently, battery power may or may not work
and have isolated it
to the 12V adapter jack on the scope which appears to act as a cut out
for the internal battery.
I give a poke with a non-metal stick and it works...This sounds like
another Mapuger's experience
with his outta the box scope.
Next thing, when trying to use 2X it wouldn't move in the E direction. I
opened the bottom
cover plate and discovered that the motor does not spin when the E
button is pressed at 2X!
(Interesting note that the whole motor/gearbox assembly moves when E is
pressed at other
speeds.)
Has anyone experienced this problem on their LX50? Is this a classic
LX50 drive issue?
Thanks,
BG
