I am a newbie and being having great fun with my 8inch LX200.
I have some setup questions:
I set it up as follows:
Alt-Az.
I face south, and set the tripod up with the scope on it such that I am
looking at the control panel. I level the whole thing.
I set the RA and circles at 0 (although the circles make no difference
I think unless you want to measure or go manual)
I set the Dec at 0.
Then I power up.
And that is my question - I see people write that they power up with the
Dec at 90. Is that plus or minus 90, and is that better than setting it
at 0. (although, I assume once aligning, the computor will take whatever
you power up as into account?)
Thanks in advance,
Danni
