Thanks Jay. To the point and no personal attacks. Im trying to convince
the Dearborn, Michigan City Engineer to install reflective hoods in the
hundreds of "decorative" lamp posts that the city has installed in recent
years. The frosted globes allow most of the light to escape upwards while
leaving a shadow on the ground around the pole! He agrees on the need for
the hoods but has not yet agreed to spend the money for installation.
If we all get involved, we can make a difference. Joining the International
Dark-Sky Association will help, too.
