Giovanni:

I think you will be limited to about 3 meters from the computer to the box. The
longest box to camera head cable I have seen is also 3 meters. I do not think you
will be able to get the 14 meters you need this way.

Other options include going serial (but this is so slow) or a network. This later
solution would be very expensive and would need you to keep the computer at the
camera warm in the winter. Setup would be a complicated as well.
