Right. The camera head cable probably is not the answer. I am
in the process of testing two different solutions which I will
be reporting to this group as soon as tests are completed.

1) serial (I know, slow but cheap and goes a long ways)
I like the Edgeport/4 from Inside Out Networks
<http://207.158.205.188/products/edgeport.html>
USB to 4 ports rs-232
2 to the lx200 for TheSky and pview, 1 to the camera)
self powered off the USB port for portable use in the camper
from a laptop is possible
no extra IRQ's
very easy installation
so far very pleased (but I have not tried all ports cooking at
the same time, planned this weekend)
2) SCSI (extension is expensive, lots of weirdo approaches)
I like the paralan differential converter SD10B
<http://www.paralan.com/sd10.html>
it takes 2 of them, and each end needs power (thus my
12V to 5V question a few days ago for portable use)
not tested yet at all

My requirements:
60 ft
Back yard and portable use (AC and DC)
laptop or desktop

More on these topics soon...
