That's actually normal. The problem is that the scope recognizes two different
kinds of ENTER, short press and long press. For some silly reason, the
software will only accept short presses in the alignment routine.
This is almost sort-of documented, or at least hinted at in the manual.
Vaguely. Nice manual, no?

Try a short press, just a quick press/release. I know this is counterintuitive;
I still find myself occasionally holding down the key waiting for a beep.

This was discussed a year or so ago, but I don't think any of it got into
the topical archives.
