While you're here, how about checking out the
Astronomy Book
List ? |
First, thanks to everyone for their responses. Looks like about 50/50 on the
balancing issue when adding 2" diagonal and eyepeices. I'll probably hold off on
the balance kit for now. I plan to get into CCD imaging later after I've spent
some more time with the scope so hopefully I can wait until then. Ive' only had my
LX200 since December - lost a month or so while my Dec problem was being fixed by
Meade though.
<< There will be some who say you need to rebalance, but I've had two LX200s
with 2" diagonal (Lumicon) and 20mm Nagler, and to me it's not an issue,
never had a problem. Then again, I didn't rebalance with a piggybacked
camera with 200mm f/2.0 lens either, so I'm clearly on the lunatic fringe ;-)
Maybe a reasonable compromise would be a simple, adjustable solution like an
Ace bandage and beer can.>>
John,
Do you recommend the Lumicon over the Televue Diag? Just curious ...
BTW is that a full or empty beer can? :-)
Thanks,
Rick
