While you're here, how about checking out the
Astronomy Book
List ? |
I am also curious. I have one of Tom Noe's laser collimators for my 18"
dob--laser is sold by Kendrick-- and it works extremely well. Tom, who
is located in the Dallas area, also builds an incredible 10" portable
dob, with a Zambuto mirror, that has to be seen to be believed. I think
he calls it the Teleport. It collapses into a single package which
weighs well under 40 pounds(including a built-in drawer for eyepieces)
and can be carried with one hand. If I didn't already have my 10"
LX........may have to have one anyway--it is so portable and the images
are superior to the LX images because of the simpler optical path and
Zambuto's optical craftmanship. No go-to, however, and no photography
:-( In this area, LX's are still the most bang for the buck, IMHO.
Clear skies, Andy
