Steve,
Ive got an adjustable tripod for my LX-10 which spends half its life
at the lowest position, and the other half at its highest position. I
usually use the lowest position myself for observing whilst seated, and
the highest position is used for friends and family for that quick
look before heading inside. If your wallet can stretch it, I would
definitely go for the variable height tripod.
I have a selection of 4000 and 3000 series eyepieces for the LX-10, and
Im unable to tell the difference (most of the time). I would recommend
you buy a selection consistent with your budget and ensuring you obtain
the right spread of magnifications. Start with the 26 mm 4000 series,
and then add the 16 and 9 mm in the 3000 series with a Barlow thrown in.
