In altaz mode, try to GOTO some object close to but above the
southern horizon. AFAIK, the smaller LX200s work fine but the 4.34
ROMs give the error (approximately) "would hit fork". This is
correct *in polar mode* since the 12" is too long to fit thru the
fork. But it is clearly bogus in altaz mode. Of course, this
happens with my favorite Deep South object, NGC 5139, which is just
barely above the horizon here in the spring. Noting the RA/Dec from
the display and then slewing there manually works fine.
