i am building my observatory in stages, first a platform with a couple
temporary vibration-isolated piers, then the storage shed adjoining, then
permanent piers with telescope protectors of some kind. the vinyl building
will be used as warm house/control room/library, but now i am going to look
very seriously at using the same kind of bldg for the scopes.
that building appealed to me because it cannot rot, is very nearly
vermin-proof, and can be made insect-proof fairly easily. i plan to
experiment with filling the vinly panels with foam to improve the
heatability, too.
