While you're here, how about checking out the
Astronomy Book
List ? |
Jack--
The LX-200 is a lot of bang for the buck--I had my 10" at dark skies
last night, did a two star alignment, then punched in NGC 2841. The LX
centered it in my lowly 26mm Meade eyepiece and, with averted vision, I
could see the newest supernova, 1999by, winking in and out at me. Some
folks with some pretty high powered and expensive dobs and refractors
checked it out, ran back to check their charts and came back to take
another look. The tiny, starlike object was not on their charts--it was
the supernova at Mag 13.6. I'd have to say I'm happy with my 3 year old
LX. No dec runaway yet :-). For the Atoka people on this list, the
tornado did no damage at our site :-)
