While you're here, how about checking out the Astronomy Book List ?

Hi all,

I have a 10" LX200 and I wish to use a guidescope for an autoguider when I
purchase it. Can anyone tell me how good a quality the guidescope has to be
in order for the autoguider to work correctly?

I have an old 60mm refractor lying around, I think it may be an old Tasco
scope, yuk!!! Would this be any good or am I better off dumping it and
purchasing something different on my limited budget?

If it is not suitable what sort of guidescope would you suggest?

And would a 60 mm refractor be large enough to use as a guidescope?

Thanks in advance and clear skies to all

Andy.
